Shahi paneer is prepared either by frying the pieces of paneer or without frying it. We will make Shahi paneer by frying the pieces of paneer. So let us start making Shahi Paneer Recipe.

Ingredients to make shahi paneer at home

Paneer – 500 grams (3 pieces chopped)

Tomato – five medium sizes

Green chili – 2

Ginger – 1-inch long piece

Ghee or oil – 2 tbsp

Cumin seeds – half a teaspoon

Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp

Coriander powder – a small spoon

Red chili – less than a quarter teaspoon

Cashew – 25-30 (two tablespoons filled to the top)

Cream or Cream – 100 grams (half a cup)

Garam masala – 1/4 teaspoon

Salt – As per taste (3/4 tsp)

Green Coriander – 1 tbsp (finely chopped)

How to Make Shahi Paneer at Home

Pre-cooking

Soak cashew nuts in water for half an hour and grind them finely in a bowl.

Before making the paneer, cut it into small pieces as per your wish. Then heat it with ghee as per need and fry the pieces of paneer in the pan until it becomes light brown. The paneer pieces should not be too thick.

Make a paste by grinding tomatoes, ginger and green chilies with a grinder. Remove the paste and keep it in a bowl. Whip the cream in the grinder too.

How to Make Shahi Paneer at home

Cooking

Put ghee or oil in a pan and heat it. Put cumin seeds in hot ghee. When the cumin seeds turn brown, add turmeric powder and coriander powder fry it lightly and after adding tomato paste to this spice, fry it with a spoon. After roasting the tomatoes, add cashew paste and cream, stirring the spices with a spoon until the oil starts to float on the spices. If you want to keep the curry as thick or thin as required, add water. Add salt and red chilies and mix.

When the curry comes to a boil, add the paneer pieces. Cover and cook the mixture for 3-4 minutes on a very low flame, so that all the spices inside the paneer are soaked. Shahi paneer is ready. Turn the gas off. After saving a little green coriander, mix green coriander and garam masala.

Take out the tasty Shahi Paneer in a bowl. Garnish with green coriander. Serve hot shahi paneer with rice, naan, paratha or hot chapatti.
